Spring in Atlantis

Spring in Atlantis

If you go down any street in New York you will see people of all makes of life. You will see the rich people with their wealth and galore, and then you will see the people to whom life has given the cold shoulder to; the people who honestly try but life continuously shovels them some more of that good old brown stuff. Dreams of the Mentally Disturbed (Chapter One)

Fires flickered across Ferris Julius’ cold face as the candle crackled and waved in the faint breeze of air blowing from his nostrils. He sat at his table, reminiscing over better days, when his smile still shined and his wife was still alive. He thought back to their first kiss and his heart was warmed with pleasant emotions. He thought of the date they went on, when his car broke down on the way to the drive-in theatre, and he chuckled to himself. (more…)

Night Manta Ray Dive

As we arrived at Kahole Bay, the sun was setting behind us . The sun set was a beautiful blend of oranges, reds, yellows, and gold, slowly sinking into the ocean as it was by far the best one since our arrival in Hawaii . The sky was lit up as if the scene were painted on glass that glowed like a bright light shining through it from behind. Bright, but muted. Exhilarating, but relaxing. Ah….Hawaii! (more…)

The Caveman and the State of the Art Fishing Rod

He was very good with his spear, which he had fashioned carefully from a fallen tree — a groaning fall he had heard personally one gloomy night long ago, when there had been flashing lights and a terrible battle atop the clouds. It had groaned very heavily, the tree, as they listened, huddled in their cave, and had then loudly thumped upon the dampening earth. And it had been he who first walked bravely out, after all the defeated cloud warriors stopped pissing over the land, and searched through the leaves and twigs for it. (more…)

Married Man – I’m Drunk

The bar was packed for a night of fun with the White collar people. These kind of people don’t generally grace their presence inside of a bar, but given all the cheese and crackers, what upper class-man could resist? The night was still pretty young, and Jay had just arrived to an un-typical night, by all means. He was used to the bartender wearing jeans and a t-shirt. He was used to the three drunks that played darts all night, but he wasn’t used to this. (more…)

First Trip to Jeuno

Travelling up to Valkurm Dunes and back down to Bastok is quiet a chore, but I had to do it for the next ten levels. Destroying creatures with a few people makes battles go by a lot quicker, but your invetory fills up quicker to. I only have 30 slots, and I have make it work somehow.

Whilest I was levelling from Level 18 to Level 19, I encountered an individual who I eventually became friends with. He had a higher level job available and he needed to level up his subjob — Which I have yet to earn — and he also gave me my first linkshell. (more…)

First Party

Final Fantasy XI here is a group-based game. which means that whenever you want to level up your character then you need to find a group of people and join their “party”. Level 1 through Level 10 are easy enough to do on your own, but from Level 10 to Level 20 you have to travel to a place.

At the time, I did not know of this area. As a matter of a fact, the only places I knew were “Bastok — The City”, “South Gustaburg”, “Zeruhn Mines”, “North Gustaburg”, and a small dungeon called “Dangruf Wadi”. The place to Level 10 and up was not one of those. It was something completely different. (more…)

Married Man (The Prelude)

It was early fall, and the leaves were already beginning to melt into those beautiful colors.  The floors of the road were painted in red and yellow, while all of the sidewalks in town were swept clean. The College town was very active, with a lot of bars, movie theaters and clubs.  It was the place to be.  Even the townies couldn’t get enough of their own Town.

Harry’s Bar and Lounge” was probably the most popular joint in this town.  It had a beautiful, classical facade that sat atop  a huge stair well.  The building stood three stories in height, with a balcony on the second level that over looked Broken Bound River.  The river was exceptionally beautiful this time of year with all the trees pouring over top of it.  The leaves would just trickle down the river lighting it up like gold. Of course this being a college town, only the loneliest of the lonely, would ever actually take time out of his 21st birthday to notice these sort of interesting things. (more…)

The Married Man

It was 2:00 AM, I just left Bankers Bar.  The walk home is a bit short: Head down Main Street, hang a left on Jays Avenue and I’m the first house on the left.  It was the typical week, the typical day, and seemed to be my typical night. That is until I noticed a man on the sidewalk. He seemed rough, dirty and unshaven.  The man was clearly unfamiliar to the town, and unfamiliar to me. (more…)
